More Info: Produce Bags
If you’re here, you’ve either purchased one of our reusable bags or you’re considering purchasing one. On this page you’ll find additional information about our reusable produce bags that explain why we do what we do.
Returns and Repairs
You’re committed to reducing single use plastics. We’re committed to supporting you.
Our goal in creating Tern is to reduce single use plastics. We’re doing that by providing you with the resources you need to eliminate your reliance on single use plastic bags. Part of that commitment means that you need your reusable bags to work effectively and last as long as possible.
We are here to support you. That’s why we offer free returns and repairs for bags that are not serving their purpose. If you notice a defect in your bag or your bag breaks during normal use, we will repair it or replace it for free.
Real Bags Made By Real People
In an effort to fulfill our goal of developing a sustainable company and doing good through business we are looking for ways to support others in all aspects of our product.
In the production of our produce bags we employ disadvantaged community members in Vietnam.
It would have been easier for us to submit our designs to an overseas factory and turned the other cheek. However, that’s not in line with our values. I’ve personally been inside mass production factories in Vietnam and it isn’t an industry I feel good about supporting.
Instead, we personally worked with a small scale program that helps agent orange victims earn an income and learn valuable skills. You can learn more about DAVA here.
The benefit of this to you, our customer, is that you have peace of mind. It isn’t fair for you to buy a product in an effort to reduce your environmental footprint, but still have to worry about whether it is having a negative social or environmental impact in other areas. We’re working hard to produce a real product that leads to real change. We hope you feel good about supporting a company like ours.
Because our bags are made in small batches by DAVA members in training, you may find an imperfection or two in one of your bags. While we personally work with the DAVA members and check each batch of bags, it is possible that an imperfection may still make it through. Imperfections are normal and they will not impact the performance of our products.
If you find an imperfection in your bag and you are not satisfied with it, you can return your bag for a replacement or your money back. No questions asked.
Our effort to support our community of single use plastic deniers is an ongoing effort. We will continue to get better as we go.
Our Tern Tote is made from 100% recycled plastic which means it has the smallest environmental footprint of any reusable bag on the market.
Our Tern Produce Bags support the education and wellbeing of agent orange victims in Vietnam.
We are continuing to look for ways to make our footprint smaller and our positive impact bigger.
If you have recommendations we’d love to hear them. This is a community effort and we are proud to be doing what we can to help solve the plastic problem.
